The University of Debrecen (UD) is one of the largest complexes of higher education in Hungary:

- It is ranked among the top 500 universities in the world: it features outstanding programs as well as research and innovation capacities, while it has achieved considerable academic results acknowledged internationally,

- It has been ranked in the top 400 as the best Hungarian university in the latest Times Higher Education ranking based on the UN's sustainability goals,

- with a total headcount of about 30,000 students,

- out of which almost 7300 are international students from as many as 133 countries across the world,
